The final installment of the Primus Primer comes from Bonnaroo Brittany from the Kick Out at Two Podcast, who gives you her take on “Deathproof” Aaron Epic. Pro Wrestling Freedom presents The Primus this Friday night in Jeffersonville at the Arena!
Hailing from Bayside, NY, “Deathproof” Aaron Epic leaves an impression that is just that- Epic. Working on his craft since 2001, he has a wide variety of cards up his sleeve.
Hellbent on winning the PWF Championship, he’ll pull every punch to reach his goal. Epic will use his knees, kicks, chops as his resources, and a vicious pile driver that is an exclamation point on most matches. He’ll even “fish hook” his opponents then taste their spit. A disturbing site to most, but it’s just Epic’s way of adding insult to injury, and probably a way to remind himself what defeat tastes like.
Whenever you see Aaron Epic’s name on the card there’s a great chance he’s going to put on a hard hitting match that might leave you feeling sorry for his opponent. But mostly, it’ll leave you wondering if he is in fact, Deathproof.
I did a quick Q&A to catch up with “The Iron Demon” Shane Mercer last week for Primus. He’s had a very busy summer, wrestling for PWF, Funkafied Wrestling Federation, Rockstar Pro, Smash Mouth Pro, CZW, and Strong Style Wrestling. He had his first match with Chase Owens, going 30 minutes with the Bullet Club member and getting raves from there fans. He also participated in a War Games, teaming with Suge D and Billy Gunn. “Was loving it for the little kid in me,” he says. “Who’d thought I would come out to DX music with a DX member one day.”
I had originally intended to share these stories, and this blog, last week, but it’s fortuitous that I delayed. Last night, Shane added another memorable night to his already impressive career. He had his debut match for OVW in Louisville at the Saturday Night Special.
Let me amend that: he had his debut match at OVW at the Saturday Night Special on the night Road Warrior Animal and Mick Foley were in attendance.
OVW official describes Mercer as a guy who is just waiting for the right person to spot him and elevate him. He is, pound for pound, one of the most powerful guys in the indies. He’s charismatic and explosive, and it may not be too long before someone does see him and give him a much bigger shot.
Mercer, meanwhile, is focused on Friday night and his opponent, Adrian Armour. “I have never locked up with Adrian Armour but have seen great work from him. Most of the first round matchups are pretty big but I feel like people are not thinking much into ours. Time to change that come the tournament.”
Mercer was a part of of the first PWF Primus tournament years ago, and he considers that experience to he his advantage. He fully intends to leave fans breathless, just as he did at Davis Arena last night. “I want this to be a night people will be bringing up years down the line. The championship is decided on this night, so it’s up to us to set the bar for what this championship means.”

On September 9th someone is walking away with a championship title, and the odds that it will be a resident of Georgia are pretty good.
Murder One, Chip Day, and Adrian Armour are all coming to The Primus with one goal, and that goal will pit them against each other. Each man wants to be champion, some of them need it, and all deserve it. I’ll explain what they bring to the table, and why each could walk away with the championship.
Murder One is THE veteran in The Primus. Wrestling since the early 90’s he has done and seen it all. From being a member of the NWA Wildside roster, to defeating ECW legends including Sabu, to even being a current tag team champion with Chip Day in Atlanta Wrestling Entertainment, Murder has done things that some of the men in this tournament never will. He does not need this championship and that makes him all the more dangerous.
Murder has nothing to lose by leaving The Primus without a championship. His career will move on and he will be as accomplished as ever. That being the case it also leaves him with a “devil may care” attitude. What is there to worry about when you’ve already done everything? This gives him an advantage the others wish they had. With no nerves in play and nothing to prove, his chances of walking away the champion are very good.
Chip Day may be the most deserving of a singles championship. The man known as the Kennesaw Kick Machine has put in more work on the independent scene in the last year than most have their entire careers. At this point his attitude may be that he is owed a championship, and one could not find fault in that assertion.
Day has racked up win after win and proven himself in every town he’s traveled to. He has faced the likes of Cedric Alexander and Tommaso Ciampa, and holds clean victories over Colby Corino and Sami Callihan. He also made it to the semi finals of the Scenic City Invitational falling just short to Chris Hero, only to score a victory over Hero and his tag partner JT Dunn a night later to retain his tag team championship. Both accomplished and able, Chip Day could walk away as champion after The Primus is said and done.
Adrian Armour will win the championship on September 9th. I wholeheartedly believe this. He is the complete package in wrestling, and is not long for the big times. His title victory in September will be just one more stop on his road to greatness.
Adrian has not been in the wrestling business as long as his fellow Georgians competing at The Primus, but he has picked it up faster than most people will in a decade. Already being a technically sound competitor, at some point this summer something clicked inside Adrian and since that time he has been riding a wave of forward momentum that is impossible to ignore. Even in defeat he is not slowed down, and with big names literally stealing from his repertoire, it is hard to imagine he wouldn’t walk out with the title and all the acclaim.
With the inclusion of Jiimmy Rave, it looks like PWF championship may end up resting neatly on a shelf in Georgia.

Going into The Primus Jason Kincaid is someone to keep your eyes on. Probably the most unorthodox wrestler on this card. The list of names Kincaid has defeated speaks for itself, ranging from Kyle O’reilly to Matt Hardy. Kincaid is a man who has held several championships and knows that he may have the advantage being so different.
There’s a reason he was featured in Ring Of Honor’s top prospect tournament and made it so far. He’s one of the best wrestlers out today. With a very different style, a nice bit of experience, and an unbelievable amount of determination Jason “the gift” Kincaid could very well walk out the new Pro Wrestling Freedom champion at the Primus on September 9th.

Today, special guest writer Righteous Jesse chimes in on one of the big favorites, Jimmy Rave. Jesse is the co-host of the Kick Out at Two Podcast. He has worked commentary for Jimmy Rave’s home promotion, Atlanta Wrestling Entertainment, and he has good reason to believe the PWF title will be headed to Georgia.
We’ve all got our picks. Who will win the new PWF championship? We all know why some of these men could be victorious. But here’s a look at why they won’t be.
Jimmy Rave is the smartest wrestler in the game. Instead of being one step ahead, he’s always several steps ahead. He’s familiar with “run jimmy run” chants. They do not phase him. Jimmy knows that he can use the 10 count to his full advantage and even extend the count by rolling in and out of the ring again. It’s the little things like that.
Rave is a world traveled wrestling superstar who has held several championships throughout his career. This will be another one added to the resume. He’s seen it all. He’s done it all. He has the strategy, and on September 9th at The Primus, Jimmy Rave will be the new PWF champion.
He’s not the biggest guy in the field; he might be the smallest. He’s also not the most experienced, though he has more years under his belt that you might think. But Andrew Hunter is a threat to win at PRIMUS because he might the the hungriest.
Andrew Hunter has been a fixture ever since PWF debuted at the Arena in Jeffersonville. He’s already faced two men in the tournament this year, Aaron Williams and Cash Flo. He’s battled men two and three times his size, and like a honey badger staring down a wildebeest, he does so without any fear.
Hunter currently holds one half of the UWA tag team championship with his partner, Matt Atreya. He also cracked the top 100 for the Indy Power Rankings’ mid year rankings, coming in at 95.
Hunter has his detractors in and out of the business, but he has done everything his way and continues to find success. He has dreams of breaking out from the local scene, where he works both PWF and UWA, and Primus might be the first step to fulfilling those dreams. He has his work cut out for him with Chip Day waiting for him in the first round.
